Ringed pins

Found in Ireland, Scotland, North and East England (Danelaw), Denmark, Iceland, Norway, Sweden and 1 from L’Anse aux Meadows in North America. There are no finds from the south of England. [Fanning 1994]:p.20-22
Found in both male and female graves [Fanning 1994]:p.53
Adopted by the Norse in the C9th [Fanning 1994]:p.53 Norway second half of the C9th.
Found in male graves. Presumably used as cloak fasteners and then used as shroud pins in the grave. [Bersu & Wilson 1966]:p.43
