The Norwegian Museum of Cultural History consists of two sites in Oslo: 'The Historical Museum' and 'The Viking Ship Museum'.
The Historical Museum has a display of a few well known pieces from Norway. The new exhibit at the museum consists of a sparse selection of items shown in 19 small display cases and a standing picture stone.
The Viking Ship Museum contains the 3 ships found in Norway (Oseberg, Gostad and Tune) and a fair amount of their contents is on display.
