The only book in English that I know subject of that discuss Ottonian Carolingian art is Dodwellfairly well discussed in books and on the internet. The nominal starting date of 787AD is based on Charlemagne's creation of his 'The Pictorial Arts Charter of the West 800-1200Modern Thought' [DODWELL 1993].
