Typologies

Where possible for each item a typology is given. Usually this is based on previous published research and where this is the case full credit is given.
It is our intention for the sake of space, and to keep things as simple as it is possible to be with such a complicated subject, to restrict the number of typology styles to no more than 10 for each type of item.

Chronologies

Catalogues

We have amassed a number of catalogues of finds during our reseach. Catalogues are tables of finds for a given item usually restricted to the British Isles for common items and to Western Europe for those items where only a handful of items have been found.
Where a catalogue is available for a type of item a link to it is supplied in the 'See Also' area of the article.
